A Marshall Plan for Africa?
To mark the 60th anniversary of US secretary of state George Marshall's plan to reconstruct post-war Europe, City of London Corporation and the Centre for Policy Studies hosted an evening seminar on November 5th 2007 to discuss international development aid to Africa.The speakers were Andrew Mitchell, shadow development minister; Richard Dowden, director, Royal African Society; and Mark Ashurst, director, Africa Research Institute.
