Planting Ideas: How fertiliser subsidies are working in Malawi - Wednesday, 12th March 2008 ()


His Excellency Dr Francis Moto, High Commissionner of the Republic of Malawi to the United Kingdom, hosted an event to discuss recent innovations in agriculture in Malawi. The event was followed by a reception to celebrate the publication of Planting Ideas: How fertiliser subsidies are working in Malawi, by Blessings Chinsinga and Aoiffe O'Brien.


Zimbabwe: Where next for Mbeki's mediation? - Thursday, 1st November 2007 ()


This event, held in association with the Royal Commonwealth Society and the Royal African Society, brought together a panel of experts to discuss regional mediation on Zimbabwe.

Speaking at the event:
- Deprose Muchena, economic justice programme manager, Open Society Institute for Southern Africa
- Patsy Robertson, former director of information, Commonwealth Secretariat, and an observer of the Zimbabwe elections in 2002
- Judith Todd, author and veteran campaigner
- Geoffrey Nyarota, founder-editor, Daily News

The presentations and discussion were followed by a reception to launch 'The Day After Mugabe: Prospects for Change in Zimbabwe', edited by Mark Ashurst and Gugulethu Moyo, published by Africa Research Institute.
